Service Validation Engineer – UK Wide (National)

Summary

RJ Urmson Commissioning Engineers Ltd (RJU) seek a driven Service Validation Engineer (minimum of 2 years’ experience). This role requires an in-depth knowledge of the critical ventilation sector specialising in the verification of operating theatres, cleanrooms, aseptic units in the NHS, healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. Ideally you will have or be working towards Authorised Person (HVAC) HTM 03-01 certification. Experience of testing LEV’s, MSC’s, fume cupboards, isolators, laminar flow cabinets (DESIRABLE)

Job Role

  • Testing critical ventilation in the healthcare sector; validating and verifying the systems in accordance with the relevant health technical memorandum / hospital requirements. Typical locations would be operating theatres, ITUs, endoscopy departments
  • Testing includes; airflow and pressure measurements, microbiological air sampling, noise and environmental measurements, auditing of Air Handling Units (AHUs), and re-balancing airflows and carry out critical ventilation verification supply and extract air change rates
  • Provide full written reports with conclusions and recommendations
  • Provide on the job training to assistants and junior engineers
  • To ensure understanding and compliance with (site) health & safety requirements
  • Ensure the safe custody and use of instruments & equipment, arrange repairs and recalibrations when necessary

Person Specification

  • Minimum 2 years’ engineering experience within the critical ventilation sector specialising in the verifications of operating theatres, cleanrooms, aseptic units in the healthcare and NHS
  • Experience of testing LEV’s, MSC’s, fume cupboards, isolators, laminar flow cabinets (DESIRABLE)
  • Sound understanding of Healthcare Technical Memorandum (HTM) 03-01 and healthcare industry regulations
  • Strong technical ability in the ventilation systems market
  • Ability to consult, build relationships and credibly propose solutions
  • Competent at written communication – internally and externally
  • Ability to manage own time across a range of engineering and reporting activities
  • Liaise and develop working relationships both with the customer and other employees within the company
  • To support overall delivery of company goals and schedule
  • Developed IT skills (eg Mobile App, Excel, Word etc)
  • Represent and promote the business in a professional and positive manner

Experience & Qualifications

• Educated to higher education level, preferably in science or engineering

• Minimum 2 years’ engineering experience within the critical ventilation sector specialising in the verifications of operating theatres, cleanrooms, aseptic units in the healthcare and NHS

• Experience of testing LEV’s, MSC’s, fume cupboards, isolators, laminar flow cabinets (DESIRABLE)

• Authorised Person HVAC HTM 03-01 Certification (DESIRABLE)

• CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card

• Asbestos Awareness

• IPAF and PASMA certified (DESIRABLE)

• Successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check

• Driving license
