Side stream filtration is an effective method of removing suspended solids, corrosion debris and sludge from closed heating and cooling systems. Delivered in line with BSRIA BG 29\/2021, BG 50\/2021 and BS 8552, this treatment improves system efficiency, protects\u00a0<\/span>components<\/span>\u00a0and supports long-term system performance.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

What\u00a0<\/span>i<\/span>s Side Stream Filtration?<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Side stream filtration works by allowing the water and solids to pass through the unit which creates a centrifugal flow, during this flow process the solids attach themselves to the sides of the carbon fibre filters. The filters will need to be checked periodically and changed where necessary.<\/p>\n

Why<\/span>\u00a0Side Stream Filtration Is Important<\/span>?<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n

Recirculating heating or cooling water systems frequently suffer from a build-up of solids and sludge generated by corrosion, scale deposition, bacterial issues and solids in the feed water as well as swarf and debris form initial construction. Left in situ these solids and bacterium\u2019s can severely impact the performance and energy efficiency of a closed water system, block heat exchangers, provide sites for under deposit corrosion and a promote bacterial growth.<\/p>\n

Treatment is carried out to BSRIA BG 29\/2021 Pre Commission Cleaning of Pipework Systems and BS 8552:2012 Sampling and Monitoring of Water from Building Services Closed Systems and BG 50\/2021: Water Treatment for Closed Heating and Cooling Systems standards.<\/p>\n

Our operatives are not only fully trained in side stream filtration treatment, but also in ensuring the safety of everyone whilst cleaning is carried out. All engineers carry the CSCS passport to safety and are all enhanced DBS checked to ensure confidence when working on site and in areas with vulnerable people.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Any water samples taken are sent to a UKAS approved laboratory for testing. All instruments used in testing are calibrated to national standards and copies of certification are supplied with reports<\/p>\n<\/div>
