B2B Sales Consultant – Chorley, Lancashire

Summary

Urmson Fire Specialists Ltd (USF) seek a driven B2B Sales Consultant (minimum of 2 years’ experience). Ideally you will have an in-depth knowledge of the fire systems sector specialising in the inspection, surveying and testing of fire / smoke dampers, fire compartmentation and fire doors. Other services we offer are cleaning of ventilation ductwork, air handling units and kitchen extracts.

You will sell our service solutions to both existing and prospective customers and take responsibility for sourcing new business, maximising opportunities from the existing client base and cross selling.

RJ Urmson Group is an independent HVAC service, commissioning, water treatment and fire systems engineering group of companies with over 27 years delivering a level of expertise that benefits a vast range of sectors including NHS, private healthcare, operating theatres, education, pharmaceuticals, retail, manufacturing, commercial and residential buildings.

UFS core activities are fire / smoke damper testing and surveys, fire compartmentation surveys, fire door inspections, ventilation ductwork, air handling unit and kitchen extract cleaning. UFS has an extensive portfolio delivering major contracts to the NHS, hospitals, universities and facility management companies.

Job Role

  • Working predominantly in the M&E contracting and end user markets
  • Establishing long term positive and productive relationships with consultants / specifiers, M&E contractors and end users whilst promoting the benefits of new products and technologies
  • Achieving targeted sales growth and maintaining a strong pipeline of business is essential
  • Maintaining the company’s customer information database (CRM) and ensuring that management are kept fully informed through reports and for company intelligence to support marketing and sales decision making
  • Preparing quotations and tenders for new and existing customers and following up in a very professional manner
  • To become technically conversant with the company’s product and service portfolio, being able to discuss the function of the equipment knowledgeably with current and potential customers
  • Produce analysis reports and other information as required by the management team to assist with sales, financial and operational planning
  • To provide excellence in both verbal and written communication including bid / tender writing and support to marketing colleagues

Person Specification

  • Strong technical ability in the fire systems market including fire / smoke damper testing, fire compartmentation survey, fire door inspections
  • Knowledge of ventilation ductwork, air handling units and kitchen extract cleaning services (DESIRABLE)
  • Preferably existing relationships in the healthcare and education contracting market
  • Significant credentials across transaction, consultative and complex selling
  • A professional and solutions-based approach to exceeding customer service requirements
  • Expertise in pipeline development and conversion across both the public and private sectors
  • Success in both developing new business and growing established customer accounts
  • Experience of customer relationship management processes and systems
  • Evidence of the development and implementation of effective sales collateral
  • Key competencies comprising of selling, interpersonal and team-working skills
  • Represent and promote the business in a professional and positive manner

Experience & Qualifications

• Educated to higher education level

• Minimum 2 years’ B2B sales experience

• Sound understanding of ventilation ductwork, air handling unit and kitchen extract cleaning (DESIRABLE)

• Developed IT skills (eg Microsoft Excel, Word etc)

• Driving licence
