Grease builds up in kitchen extract systems, and it is a fire hazard. To keep the air in your commercial kitchen fresh and the vents free of flammable grease, the ventilation system needs to be cleaned thoroughly and regularly. This includes regular technical cleaning services for the fans, grilles, ducts, canopies, filters etc.
Your Legal Obligations: The health and safety executive and industrial guidelines and regulations stipulate that kitchen extracts should be kept clean to minimise fire and other risks. It is therefore a recommendation outlined in the TR19 ‘cleanliness of ventilation systems’ documentation that systems should be cleaned on a regular basis.
