Smoke visualisation testing is intended to demonstrate the visual evidence of air flow direction. The test helps to identify stagnant areas within a clean room, operating theatre etc; these areas can further act as a channel or reservoir of contaminants. A smoke visualisation test will highlight the efficacy of air contamination control, and may be a requirement of an MHRA or similar regulatory inspection.
Inadequate airflow (e.g., turbulence due to line design issues and first air disruption during interventions) in the critical Grade A zones, where sterile products and components are exposed, could lead to the introduction of contaminants into drug products as they are being filled and stoppered, posing a risk to product sterility

Our engineers carry out smoke visualisation tests to determine airflow patterns using UKAS calibrated equipment, copies of certification are supplied with reports
